The programs for obtaining the Austrian residence permit
Independent - a residence permit obtained by moving and opening own business in Austria.
Employment – a residence permit obtained when you were invited to work in Austria.
Private Residence Permit enables obtaining a residence permit if you consider Austria as a country for investment and the gradual creation of a "second home" for yourself and your family members.

As part of the "Independent" program you should have the apostilled birth certificate, marriage/divorce certificate and police clearance. There is also a number of documents that do not require apostille: a travel passport, 2 photos (as for a Schengen visa), a lease agreement and proof of rent payment and related expenses, health insurance application (must be made in a public insurance office for self-employed persons).

"Employed Personnel" Program enables to move to Austria as a hired employee as:

- highly qualified personnel,
- qualified personnel of shortage professions,
- personnel with Austrian diploma of higher education,
In order to obtain a residence permit one should have the apostilled birth certificate, marriage/divorce certificate and police clearance. The following documents do not require apostille: a travel passport, 2 photos (as for a Schengen visa), a lease agreement and proof of rent payment and related expenses, health insurance (automatically made by the employer), form.

The main criteria consist in proof of income (a certain level of income for each type of professional) or availability of the bank account and employment contract.

"Private Residence Permit" Program
You should be included to the quota - every year the government determines quotes for the whole country. The quota is opened in early January each year, when the documents for obtaining a residence permit are submitted, and in early February the confirmation of granting the residence permit already arrives, so the next month you can get a card. The required set of apostilled documents includes the birth certificate, marriage/divorce certificate and police clearance. Travel passport, 2 photos (as for a Schengen visa), a lease agreement and proof of rent payment and related expenses, health insurance and a form shall not be apostilled.

Conditions for obtaining a private residence permit:
• Availability of funds sufficient to stay with acknowledgment of the source, in the account in Europe. The funds can be transferred immediately after issuance of a residence permit, to any other account.
• Rent of living space
• Health insurance (private insurance)
